Description
The landmark stands at the edge of Pearblossom Highway in California. Many pass by without thought as to it's historical significance, but it is a memory of the small community of Llano that once thrived as an oasis in the desert. Only remnants remain of the people who lived here as a close knit group that proved that you can thrive in the middle of nowhere if you put your mind to it.
They had their schools, baseball teams, farms, aqueducts, silos and... government. They are credited as innovators in the Montessori School system. Alas... squabbles and turmoil among the group destroyed the experiment. Only the shadows of a day gone by remain.
It's just another reminder that "The grass withers, and the flower fades... but the word of the Lord abides forever." 1 Peter 1:24-25
The Mountains of San Bernardino and Angeles National Forest are the backdrop.
There is a canvas texture application in the re-mix of 2011. Please use the full resolution preview for a closer look at the details.
